Day 21: Maubeuge Rest Day
Happy Bastille Day! It’s been a very chilled out day! It was croissants and coffee in the morning and cricket listening in the afternoon.
Dad and I managed to sneak in a short sightseeing trip to the town centre. We found a ceremony to commemorate French lives lost in the World Wars. There was a band and flag waving in front of a tall statue. Next, we checked out a fort but I’ll spare you the details as Dad will be writing a guest history blog. A date in the diary for all you history buffs!
I spent most of the afternoon trying to get to grips with my GoPro. I’ve put together a collection of videos that you might find interesting. The first video was taken in Hastings on July 3rd and the second video on the cobbles yesterday! The third is the start of the ride with Dad yesterday and the final video is the marching band on Bastille Day.
