Day 56 & 57: Rest Day & Konstanz to Arbon
Day 56 was my rest day. It is also the half way point of my trip! I can’t believe where the time has gone! Looking forward to the next 56 days!
I didn’t do very much on my day off. A lot of sitting around and relaxing were the main highlights. In the afternoon, we checked out the pool and park facilities next to the campsite. Tim and I played table tennis and had quick dip in the pool. A very chilled day indeed.
The highlight of our stay in Konstanz has been our neighbours. One family was from Korea and the other from Germany. The Kim family got quite the shock when I started speaking to them Korean! It was great to meet Cheulhong, Hana, Dowon and Doha! Enjoy the rest of your time in Switzerland and thank you for the Ramyeon! The Zschoche family from Germany were very interested in my ride. Barbara, Mathias, Frantiska and Kathorina are a family of cyclists so were keen to know more about the trip. Thank you for the kind donation and I hope you enjoy the rest of your holiday!
Day 57
The sun had gone and was replaced by clouds and cold. My shoulder was hurting a lot so I made sure I stretched well. Tim attached some heat patches to my back, which helped ease the pain. The ride was a short and flat one so I wasn’t too worried.
We decided to head back to Konstanz at the beginning of the ride. We wanted to take a few snaps of the lake and the old town. Check out the snaps below (I’m sorry about the bad lighting!).
The rest of the ride was quite uneventful. The only thing that held us up were the train crossings. We got stuck at six of them!We cycled along a lovely cycle path the whole way. It was the Eurovelo 15 so it was well signed posted and easy to navigate. We completed 35km in a couple of hours and with only 200m of hills. I was happy the ride was straightforward and not too challenging! Tim got a cracking photo of the storm that was brewing over our heads in the evening. Luckily it didn’t rain too hard!
