Day 32: Arlon to Luxembourg City
I wokeup this morning wondering about today’s ride. The van needed to go to the garage for a diagnostic check. My ride depended on the state of the van. If it needed to be fixed then we would stay in Arlon another night and travel to Luxembourg tomorrow. We got ready and went to a garage nearby. It couldn’t be fixed in Belgium so we were sent to another place in Luxembourg. I decided to start riding and meet them at the next campsite. I was happy to ride and I was looking forward to venturing into a new country!
Here is the van going in for surgery!
The ride through Arlon was very hilly (see VIDEO 1) which was a real wake up call! I made my way towards the border on the side of a main road. The cycle path wasn’t the best (see VIDEO 2)! I soon arrived at the border and pedalled my way into country number four, Luxembourg! Check out VIDEO 3!
The route through Luxembourg was brilliant. The cycle paths were well signposted and the roads were quiet. Take a look at VIDEO 4 for a glimpse at the bike route.
I received a message from B saying that the van was fixed and that I should meet them at the campsite. I cycled toward the city centre but the cycle route signs soon disappeared. I ended up biking through the centre on the busy main roads. It was an eye opening experience (see VIDEO 5)! The city looked beautiful though so I’m looking forward to checking it out tomorrow on my rest day. I eventually made my way though the city and to the campsite. 43km completed after 2 hrs of riding! Time to rest my shoulder as it’s been painful today. I have a big knot near my right shoulder blade. Hopefully it’ll be up and running by Thursday.
Mum helped Dad fix his bike this afternoon. Check out these super snaps that Brandi took! It’s B’s last night! We are going to miss her a lot (mainly her barista skills haha). She’s been a star! Thanks for looking after us!
