Day 26: Givet to Revin
Yesterday was a scorcher and so was today. The sun has been out in full force since Bridget’s (aka B) arrival. Today was a big day because I was going to be joined by Dad and B for the ride! It’s great to have company on pleasant days like today. Our route was a simple one. Follow the Green Way cycle route all the way yo Revin. Easy peasy!
First, we needed to collect B’s bike. We were renting from a place called Vespa Loisirs in the centre of town. The owner, Sebastian, was a very friendly an helpful fella. He was loving the Bath to Rome trip! Check out the photo below. He kitted B out with a cool looking bike and we went on our way. Merci Sebastian for your help…top man!
We were in good spirits as we left the lovely town of Givet. 42km of Ardenne cycle route lay before us. I was especially happy as the Google maps was tucked away safely…this road had no turnings or dodgy roads! Check out VIDEO 1 for our departure bants.
The route was excellent. The road surface was smooth tarmac and the views were amazing. We cycled along the river and through a couple of towns. It seemed like we had turned back on ourselves but the signs said differently. Great plumes of smoke stretched across the sky from two huge power stations. They didn’t quite fit in with the wonderful scenery (see VIDEO 2) so we were happy when they disappeared from sight!
B and Dad were flying along at a good pace (see VIDEO 3 for my overtaking skills) . We passed through a couple of pretty towns as we cruised towards Revin (see VIDEO 4 for a bit of downhill near Revin). B is going to write a guest blog as well so she’ll be providing some more details!

Our total distance today was 42km! A really solid ride from everybody. I was proud of B and Dad for their efforts. I think everybody is feeling a bit stiff now though. Looking forward to riding again with the gang tomorrow!
